ABOUT Gerard Sibila
MORE THAN 20 YEARS HELPING CLARINET LOVERS TO OVERCOME THEIR TECHNICAL BLOCKS AND SPEED UP THEIR LEARNING OF THE INSTRUMENT IN ORDER TO ENJOY MUSIC
My love for music and specifically for the clarinet began from the cradle, listening to my grandfather play. With him I learned my first notes to later continue my professional studies at the Manresa Conservatory with Juan Plaja and Superiors in Barcelona, with Josep Fuster and Alfons Carbonell and also bass clarinet with Harry Sparnaay at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) .
As a regular clarinettist of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC) I received classes from great clarinetists such as Hans Deinzer, Alan Hacker, Walter Boeykens, José Luís Estellés, Antony Pay or Lorenzo Coppola.
Since I love modern music and jazz, I studied modern saxophone with Alfons Carrascosa and clarinet with Phillippe Colom.
In total I have recorded 4 cd's. “New York City Suite”, with clarinet and bass clarinet and 3 more with Big Band: “A la Big Bom Band”, “Fabes Contades” and “Made in Cat”, with alto and tenor saxophones, and also clarinet and bass clarinet.

What is my project?
Help EVERYONE to learn clarinet in an easy and fun way, regardless of distance or musical level and create the largest community of clarinet lovers in Spanish.
About Gerard Sibila (more personal)

- I am a karateka. From the age of 5 to my twenties, I practiced karate 3 days a week and although I haven't put on my kimono for a long time, I am a karateka in everything I do. Our Japanese sensei (teacher) not only taught us some techniques, but also a philosophy, a way of understanding life and of maintaining our health and helping to maintain that of others.
- The chess. From the age of 6 to 18, I learned and played chess every week, and now I can't help but calculate the next moves before I move.
- I am a father and that is why I value time very much, both mine and that of my students. That's why I always try to find the most efficient way to learn.
- I love to learn about everything. Yes yes, everything. I either watch documentaries about animals, or about the 2nd world war, or I read a book about how the brain works. That's why I always lack time, because everything seems super interesting to me!
- I highly value consistency in projects and people. I think it is essential to be authentic and respect our own values to bring something good to this world.
